The latest rsident heel of the NBA,Dillion Brooks has spent the year getting under the skin of the majority of his opponents on the court. His verbal spars with the Golden State Warriors, notably Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, who he once said resembled the PBS logom have garnered plenty of attention, but Brooks has a new target of his brand of smack talk-LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Speaking after the team’s practice on Tuesday, the Association’s preimenent agitator had this to say about facing James and the Lakers:
“I wouldn’t mind playing LeBron (James) in a seven-game series,” Brooks said after the Grizzlies practiced on Tuesday. “The legacy is there. First time back in the playoffs, knock him out right away. They’ll test us good. They got good pieces, good players. That’ll be a good first-round matchup for us
In order for that to happen, the Lakers will have to get a win over the Minnesota Fight Club, er Timberwolves this evening in the play-in game.
Although Brooks may welcome the matchup, the Lakers won 2 of the three matchups between the two teams this season. Lebron only played in one of the games, a January 20 matuchup that the Lakers won 122-121, but James missed 13 of his 21 field goal attempts.
